Abdoulie Njie - We're pleased with our first round performance

Real de Banjul assistant boss Abdoulie Bakary Njie expressed satisfaction in his teams first round performance following the "Whites" close 3-2 victory over visiting Bombada FC at the Banjul KG5 on Monday evening.

The rescheduled fixture came back on the heels of Real de Banjul's convincing 3-0 hammering of Tallinding United the previous weekend at the Serrekunda East Park and the City Boys continued their fine run which saw them score three times in the opening 35 minutes against the struggling Bombada.

The league's leading marksman Yankuba Jarju punished the visitors careless defense on the counter, latching on to Ebou Sanyang's through ball before firing past the helpless Bombada keeper after 3 minutes.

Alassana Jatta paid the trust of the coaching staff with an assist on the half hour mark for Foday Manneh to increase the lead to 2-0 and his third goal of the season after scoring against Serrekunda United in Week-Three and Tallinding United last weekend.

Yankuba completed his brace on 35 minutes from Alassana's back heel pass and scored his ninth of the season but Bombada pull a goal back before the break from the spot and scored their second ten minutes after the break but Real hang on to win and go a point above Armed Forces who could only manage a 1-1 stalemate against Serrekunda United last Tuesday.

"Our objective was to finish the first round on a high and today we did that against a brilliant Bombada team who showed real character today". Njie to reporters.

"We're satisfy with our first round performances and we expect to do more come the second round. The players did extremely well during the course of the first round". Concluded the former keeper.

Real will kick start the second round against Serrekunda United on Sunday 5 March at the Serrekunda East Park.
